about

This song was written for a friend who helped me through a hard Winter.

lyrics

Brave Bird
Words and music by S. Coyle 2013

Robin comes to call, lands down on my window sill,
Fluttering her feathers, folding up her wings,
She brings me the news from the high wire,
Kind of like a telegram from the bird choir.

And she brings me comfort, neatly in her beak,
And she brings me courage each and every week,
She’s my inspiration, that brave little bird,
And her aspirations will not go unheard.

You should hear her singing, boy that bird can sing,
She puts so much passion into each and every thing.
On winter evenings, wings sparkling with frost,
She may come to me to tell me she is lost,

And crumbs of comfort are all that I can give,
But I’ll keep on giving as long as I live,
She’s my inspiration, that brave little bird,
And her aspirations will not go unheard.

Instrumental

And crumbs of comfort are all that I can give,
But I’ll keep on giving as long as I live,
She’s my inspiration, that brave little bird,
And her aspirations will not go unheard.

Brave bird, brave bird, brave bird.
